Medium resolution snow cover products

Alpine area
Examples of Snow Cover Maps at 250 m resolution in 2005 for the Alto Piave basin. The maps are generated weekly on the area requested by the user and according to the CGS SCA procedure.  The animation shows the successive snow melting and/or snow precipitation events.

 Products
This service provides snow cover maps and snow depletion curves derived from the integration of MODIS data at 250 m and 500 m resolution and occasionally from MERIS Full Resolution data. Vegetation masks, DEM, land - water masks are used in input in the algorithm as well.

Delivery
All products are accessible online by the registered users in a protected data access mode. Data are provided in GIS compatible format.

Scandinavian area

Examples of Snow Cover Map for the Scandinavian area.  The maps are generated weekly according to the NORUT-NR snow cover procedure, which apllies a multisensor approach.
